How i love poppies! This was the first summer when they appeared on the garden. These are surely one of my favorite flowers, so delicate and fairy like. This poppy where one of the first ones, i watched how the petals opened after the green shell fell on the ground, magical!
This is the vegetable patch, where also flowers are grown... cornflower's, forget-me-not's, and these white and pink flowers.
...someday i want to plant poppy meadow...
One of the sweetest flowers are sweet pea's. The scent is utterly wonderful. I can imagine fairies sitting on the flowers, wearing bonnets like these flowers...like in Cicely Mary Barker's faery panting
A gorgeous display! I like to see you have all the varied colors of the batchelor button, and the pink and white in the foreground look like asters. That first poppy seemed to be wearing a little cloche hat.

ReplyDeleteIt is too hot here for poppies now ... they come in spring and hide when the air becomes heated & dry. They will return again, in the new year (i can hardly wait!) to grace the garden and dance for the faeries.
